Contraindications:

✗ You are under 18

✗ You have diabetes

✗ You are pregnant or breastfeeding

✗ You have glaucoma or taking blood thinning medicines (e.g., aspirin, warfarin)

✗ You have skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema

✗ You have transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis

✗ You have a haemophilia

✗ You have healing disorders or uncontrolled high blood pressure

✗ You are on any skin medication such as Accutane or steroids

✗ You have active skin cancer

✗ You undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy (consult your doctor)

✗ You have epilepsy

✗ You have a pacemaker or major heart problems

✗ You had Botox in the past one month

✗ 1 year post chemotherapy

Brow Lamination
✗ Psoriasis/Eczema
✗ Recent Eye Surgery
✗ Alopecia
✗ Microbladed: must be healed for at least 6 weeks
✗ Sunburn
✗ Chemical Peel, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, Laser Hair Removal, Waxing: must wait 2 weeks
✗ Sensitive Skin: risk of burns

Dermaplaning:
✗ Uncontrolled diabetes 
✗ Cancer - currently undergoing treatment 
✗ Roaccutane or isotretinoin - used within last 12 months 
✗ Blood thinners (anticoagulants) including aspirin. 
✗ Pustular acne and cystic acne 
✗ Retinol A use within last 5-7 days 
✗ Chemical peel within last 14 days 
✗ Cold sores (herpes simplex) 
✗ Moles and skin tags ( would avoid these areas) 
✗ Sun burnt skin 
✗ Burns 
✗ Vascular lesions 
✗ Pustule rosacea 
✗ Scleroderma - hardening of the skin
✗ Telangiectasia/erythema also known as spider veins 
✗ Botox/Fillers within the last 14 days

Microneedling:

✗ Keloid scars
✗ Active eczema
✗ Psoriasis and other chronic conditions 
✗ History of actinic or solar keratosis.
✗ History of herpes simplex infections.
✗ History of diabetes.

✗ Presence of raised moles in area to be treated.
✗ Scleroderma, collagen or vascular diseases and cardiac abnormalities.
✗ Blood clotting conditions.
✗ Active bacterial or fungal infections.
✗ Immunosuppression.
✗ Not recommend for women who are pregnant or nursing.

It’s impossible to list every single risk and complication but the above are recognised as contraindications for dermaplaning treatments and must be disclosed prior to treatment.
